City Inn is please to present a solo exhibition of new work by Birmingham based photographer, Krystof Kriz. A native to Prague, Kriz has studied, practiced and exhibited his work in Germany, The Netherlands, France, Czeck Republic, UK, India and Lithuania.
In this body of recent work, Kriz is making investigations into how travellers create a sense of place in their minds eye with seemingly random sets of foreign visual stimuli.
These images stem from a travellers eye or the eye of an outsider which are tuned to be more curious and less likely to take details for granted while searching for meaning in a strange place.
Considering each image as a snapshot impression for travelling, pausing to contemplate - we can get lost in pondering concepts such as the effect of rain and climate on places, on peoples and on oneself...Enjoy the journey of this artists eye - I hope it takes you to new and interesting places.
