City Cafe Birmingham welcomes new Head Chef, Neil Peers, who brings a wealth of culinary experience including 3 red stars, 4 red stars, 2 AA rosettes and a gold medal.Neil's foray into the culinary world began at the early age of 14, working part-time in an Italian restaurant, making fresh pasta. Finishing college and inspired by his early experience, Neil worked for Peter Griffiths, Director of the Salon Culinaire, where he gained a gold medal for pasta.
Following his first award, Neil's success continued gaining 2 AA rosettes on a number of occasions while working as a sous chef in the chefs' absence and later maintaining the 2 rosette award held by an exclusive group of hotels, whilst undertaking his first role as head chef.
The past seven and a half years saw Neil return to Swinfen Hall Staffordshire as the new head chef, gaining 2 AA rosettes and cooking personally for the Duke of York and assisting the hotel to receive their 4 red star status.
