City Inn Bristol welcomes Sandra Brain, a local artist presenting her largest series of new work to date.
Sandra has been creative for as long as she can remember, drawing and painting at every opportunity, She left college with a Diploma in Display and A level Art and began a career in exhibition and display. After taking a break to raise her two children she now works part time for a Digital Fine Art Printing Company and paints whenever she gets a spare moment.
Sandra has experimented with various media but keeps coming back to watercolours. She loves their translucent quality. She says 'watercolours don't have to be twee land and seascapes, they can be contemporary, abstract, vibrant and sumptous'.
Sandra is currently exploring light and graphic form. She uses different materials to create special effects in her abstract paintings and also masks them showing the viewer only part of the image as if looking through small windows, which you will see in her most recent work.
Sandra has exhibited and sold many of her paintings and is happy to take commissions.
