Manchester Cultural Attractions

Small enough to be intimate but still big enough to be vibrant, once you arrive you'll quickly learn how compact Manchester is. Divided into distinct areas, each has its own character and appeal and all within easy walking distance of each other. A highlighted map of the areas is available from our Guest Services Team.

Our suggestions for your spare time in Manchester are:

Urbis is an exhibition centre focusing on city life. Urbis's exhibition programme explores the culture and dynamism of cities around the world, covering photography, design, architecture, music, contemporary art and much more.

The Lowry Theatre is an architectural flagship with a unique and dynamic identity located in the recently redeveloped Salford Quays. Just a short journey from City Inn Manchester, it brings together a wide variety of performing and visual arts under one roof.

The Museum of Science & Industry opens a whole world of entertainment for the whole family. Situated in the oldest passenger railway buildings in the world, the Museum tells the story of the history, science and industry of Manchester - the world's first industrial city.

Further ideas and maps are available from Guest Services including: tickets for concerts; sporting events; theatre productions; and car hire; all of which can all be arranged by our Guest Services team.
