The Light of the World, Holman Hunt

Holman Hunt and the Pre-Raphaelite Vision
Manchester Art Gallery

Saturday 11th October 2008 - Sunday 11th January 2009

This autumn, Manchester Art Gallery stages the first international exhibition in over 40 years dedicated to the Pre-Raphaelite master William Holman Hunt.

Their brand new show reflects on Hunt's life and work, and examines his central role in the radical Pre-Raphaelite art movement.

Around 30 of Hunt's major works star in the show, including, for the very first time, all three versions of his world famous painting The Light of the World.

It's also a chance to see many of the artist's most popular artworks such as The Awakening Conscience, Isabella and the Pot of Basil, The Hireling Shepherd and The Scapegoat, as well as around 20 of his rarely seen drawings and watercolours.

This is your only opportunity in the UK or Europe to see the exhibition, organised by the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, Canada in association with Manchester Art Gallery.

It's FREE entry to the Gallery, plus by booking through City Inn you can also enjoy a reduced rate, with weekend packages starting from as little as £90 per room*.

*Subject to availability.
